Aurangabad: Controversial Bangladesh-born author Taslima Nasreen on Monday wondered how the itinerary of her visit to Aurangabad was leaked. Police are now probing how the travel plan of an international celebrity was leaked, giving rise to a potential law and order issue. Nasreen, now a Swedish citizen, was virtually packed off from the Chikalthana Airport in Aurangabad at around 8 pm on Saturday after huge protests outside as well as near the Taj Hotel where she planned to stay during her three-day sojourn. Several teaching aspirants submitted a memorandum to the divisional educational authorities seeking permission to commit mass suicide if the ongoing ban on teachers’ recruitment in higher education is not lifted soon. The aspirants stated that several prior pleas made before the government in the past have fallen on deaf ears. Hence, uniting under an action committee of PhD, NET, SET qualified candidates, the group sought permission to end their lives as a last resort. The government has frozen teachers recruitment under the garb of revising staffing pattern and other technical reasons. Sandip Pathrikar, one of the leaders of the protest said, “Today, over 9,500 posts of assistant professor are vacant, but they are not fulfilled by the government. A  district judge  on Monday slapped a 28-year old man with the life sentence on charges of committing the unnatural act  and murdering a three-year-old boy  The accused was charged with the sections of  IPC 302  (murder) and section 377 (unnatural act), apart from the stringent sections of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act (POCSO). District judge V V Patil, while pronouncing the accused as guilty, slapped him with a life sentence, Rs 10,000 fine on the charges of murder and slapped 10 years of rigorous imprisonment along with a fine of Rs 5,000. Taking cognizance of the nature of the crime, the court pronounced that the accused would separately undergo the two sentences, bringing the total sentence to 24 years. The city police have arrested a 45-year-old  lecturer  for sending  lewd messages  and asking sexual favors from a girl student. The 18-year-old student — pursuing her  HSC  at a city-based college — was allegedly being subjected to indecent chats by the suspect for over two months.the  incident came to light when the girl’s brother managed to read the  WhatsApp  chats between them. In the chats, the suspect was demanding sexual favors from the girl. Later, the victim’s brother along with his friend went to the college and confronted the suspect. He also threw ink on teacher’s face and assaulted him before bringing the matter to the notice of the college staff and management. The civic body on Monday assured the  Aurangabad bench  of the  Bombay high court  that it would not dump garbage outside the city and that it is planning to process it at the source within the municipal limits. The assurance came during a hearing by the bench comprising  Justices S S Shinde  and S M Gavhaneon on a petition submitted by the residents and institutions from the Kanchanwadi/Golwadi area against the dumping of solid waste in their vicinity. The AMC’s lawyer, Rajendra Deshmukh, informed the court about a recent meeting chaired by principal secretary  Manisha Mhaiskar , when the civic body and the government authorities took many decisions, including segregation and processing of garbage at the source itself. First of all, it depends on what you classify and call as "Hinduism". If you consider only Vedic tradition as synonymous with Hinduism, then the dates would be around 5th century. But long before this time, there was a strong widely spread non-Vedic and non-agamic sect of religion in Tamil Nadu. There were other parts of India with such religions too. These deities are known as 'Kaval dheivam' (guardian deity) or 'Kula dheivam' (family gods) in Tamil Nadu/Andhra Pradesh. The deities may be a representation of local folklore depicting a local hero or a village protector. A lot of these deities have been sanskritised and amalgamated into the later Vedic religion. One of the biggest such example is 'Seyyon' or Kumara kadavul (aka Karthikeyan), who was mentioned in early texts as the God of the Tamil diaspora.
