man thrashed for doing smutty act

Aurangabad,  (PTI) A 45-year-old man, husband of a Sarpanch in Aurangabad district, was thrashed by a group of people for allegedly urinating in a crematorium near Waluj village, police said today.
The injured, identified as Ravan Pawar, who belongs to a backward community, has been hospitalised with multiple injuries.
According to police, the alleged incident occurred on Saturday when Pawar, who was drunk, was headed towards Lanji village in his car.
Pawar got down from his vehicle near the crematorium and started relieving himself when some locals spotted him and allegedly attacked him, police said.
“A case has been registered against eight persons in connection with the incident,” said Waluj police station inspector Satish Tak.
Pawar’s wife is Sarpanch of Lanji village under Gangapur taluka in the district.
No one has been arrested in connection with the incident so far, Tak said.

garbage will not be dumped outside side the city assures civic body to HC

The civic body on Monday assured the  Aurangabad bench  of the  Bombay high court  that it would not dump garbage outside the city and that it is planning to process it at the source within the municipal limits. The assurance came during a hearing by the bench comprising  Justices S S Shinde  and S M Gavhaneon on a petition submitted by the residents and institutions from the Kanchanwadi/Golwadi area against the dumping of solid waste in their vicinity. The AMC’s lawyer, Rajendra Deshmukh, informed the court about a recent meeting chaired by principal secretary  Manisha Mhaiskar , when the civic body and the government authorities took many decisions, including segregation and processing of garbage at the source itself.
